Some Sweet Days Ahead for Age of Daze

Sometimes, I tend to ramble on about things that either piss me off or I just don't like in general.  But not this time...this time, I'm going to ramble on about something that I'm pretty excited about.

This past weekend I received a phone call all the way from New Brunswick, from my friend Matt.  Not just any 'Matt' folks - THE Matt. Yes, Matt McLaughlin from Canadian Rockers - Age of Daze.

If your Canadian hard rock fan and don't know who Age of Daze is, shame on you.  And well, if you're not Canadian - you'll know now...and I can almost bet you'll be hearing alot more about them sooner than later.

Some exciting days are in store for these dudes. Not like there hasn't been plenty already, their last album "Hollywood Ending" received notable success with the single "Afflicted" reaching #17 on the Canadian rock charts, and hit #1 on the Sirius Rock 20 Countdown for 2 weeks.  I also got to see the guys scoop up the award for Best New Group at the Canadian Radio Music Awards last year during CMW in Toronto (left).

But enough about what they did last year, more important is what's to come.

Aside from friendly chit-chat about everything besides music, and me spitting out my typical sarcastic one-liners when I talk with Matt, I did break into music-mode for a bit and harass him about all the details on Age of Daze's latest single, "What's Left of Me"... it's safe to say after hearing that they were hitting the studio to produce the single with Jeff Dalziel of Diesel Music (formerly of Sony Music), I was just about as excited for it to be released as Matt and the rest the AOD crew.

"It's something that just about everybody can relate to, we've all gone through it."  Which is fine...there can never be one too many songs out there that strike a chord, in my opinion.

Age of Daze will be hitting the studio to finish the album in October in TO. After that, you can bet they'll be hitting the road and  putting some mileage on the big ol' band van.  I did have to bug Matt about their plans to release a full length CD (personally, I don't believe in the CD thing anymore)...but he did mention there are some sweet plans in the works for the album and it's deliverablity.  Knowing these guys, I'm sure they won't disappoint.

"What's Left of Me" is out now.  It will be available on iTunes shortly...but has officially been released to radio stations across the nation.

Don't wanna wait for radio to get their ass in gear?  That's fine...just click the banner below to check it out.  Nice work gentlemen!
